Lets fast forward a bit

Ok, so it all started the afternoon of August 6, 2010. Our friend Eric Brown asked me if I wanted to go play golf, and seeing as with the baby on the way it would be a while before I got to play a round of golf again, I took him up on the offer. We went to Riverside Golf course and played 16 holes (we ran out of daylight) and tied the score at the end. Afterwards, I went home tired and hungry, so when I got to the house, Shea's mom had announced that they were completely finished with the nursery. Then her mom told our daughter (in utero) that it was time to come out. Well sure enough the next hour, Shea woke me up and told me that her water had broken. It was ironic because every class and piece information we read stated that most moms have contractions before the water breaks. In Shea's case it was the opposite. We called the OB and she told us to head for the hospital. At this point it is around 11:30pm. Once we got to Labor and Delivery at St. Davids Medical Center here in downtown Austin, the contractions had started. At about 5 centimeters dilation, Shea requested the epidural, and that REALLY HELPED with the pain of contractions. At 12:40pm, Lillian Elaine Amaro was born into this world, already with a sweet disposition and even a sweet heart string tugging cry. We are all doing great and are allowing this event to sink into our hearts. We cannot express the appreciation for our friends and family that have been there for us; from the beginnings of our marriage, the hard times, the joyful times, Shea's pregnancy, and now the arrival of our daughter.

Enough sappiness, here are some initial pictures. We will post more as they come.

Congratulations! She's beautiful! I'm so glad the labor went well and there were no major complications. I can't wait to meet her in person!

Marvin and Roki say "Whoo Hoo!" Way to go Amaro's! Lilly's name especially pleases Marvin because Lillian was his mother's name. We can hardly wait to see the whole Amaro family this fall. Congratulations and best wishes! Omedetto Gozaimasu!
